A Bit About Me
I'm Andrew Garsetti, a marketing and communications strategist with over a decade of experience building compelling narratives for premium wine, spirits, restaurant, and hospitality brands. My connection to this industry runs deep—I grew up in a family that worked in hospitality, and my first job was at a popular snack bar on a beach in East Hampton, where I fell in love with the art of good service and the joy of a good food/drink experience.
Most recently as Director of the MMGY Wagstaff Wine + Spirits division, I led comprehensive PR and marketing campaigns for high-value clients including Jackson Family Wines, Marriott Hotel Group, Coravin, and Scratch Restaurants Group. Through years of living in San Francisco and New York and developing a vast network of media and trade, my work has generated billions of impressions annually across top-tier publications such as The New York Times, Food & Wine, Forbes, and Robb Report. I specialize in creating integrated campaigns that span traditional PR, influencer partnerships, experiential events, and digital marketing, always with a focus on authentic storytelling that resonates with the right consumers.
My approach combines strategic thinking with genuine cultural fluency in the hospitality world. I've managed complex activations from tastings at sprawling event venues with budgets exceeding $750,000, to intimate media dinners at Michelin-starred restaurants.
I have a deep personal involvement in the industries I serve: I'm WSET Level 3 certified and founded my own wine club business in the Bay Area (Uncle Andy's Wine Closet), creating and executing food and wine pop-up events for crowds of 200+ people; I’ve now expanded this concept to New York City, hosting food/drink events with rotating seasonal Italian fare.
I also stay plugged into the cultural pulse through food and beverage media, having hosted radio shows for community stations, and I curate an online compendium featuring over 400 restaurants across San Francisco and New York City. This ongoing immersion in the scene helps me spot emerging trends before they hit the mainstream and identify those golden moments that matter most to hospitality brands looking to stay ahead of the curve.
